I used to live in Middletown and ate there every week. But I live in Monticello now. So now, where ever I am when I come from work, I get off the highway to go get Mario's food. That is how good it is. It is very spicy and flavorful, the way I like Jamaican food to be!!!

If you want Jamaican food at a good price point and good portions this is the place for you. Jerk chicken is always juicy and they give the sauce on the side if you want it that way. I always get take out and the food is always consistent.

The ackee & saltfish was superb. I asked the young man to include calaloo in addition to banana, yams, and dumpling. After that I was good for the rest of the day. My wife had the ox tails. She is a p.i.t.a. when it comes eating out, and if she don't like it, well.... She enjoyed the ox tail so much, she was wanted to personally meet the chef in the kitchen. Great place to eat with reasonable prices!

Just moved to the area and of course one the first things we Caribbean people do is look for our traditional foods that make us feel like home Sister's island Cuisine did not disappoint! Obviously they're doing something right because if you don't come early enough, they might not have what you're looking for. The Jerk Chicken was authentically prepared in the black barrel drum they have right in front of the establishment. The cow foot was like butter melting of the bones literally. Even for the medium stew chicken and rice and peas portions were very generous and felt like a Brooklyn or Queens large. I also ordered the curry goat and rice (medium) dish which didn't survive for leftovers. No chance. I like the spicey steamed cabbage which was laced with scotch bonnet. That was a very unique twist and a first for me. Absolutely loved it. Would I highly recommend or go back myself?!!! I'm already there! If you're in the area, I would say this a gem when you're in the mood for west Indian food and you don't feel like cooking. Cheers!

First time at this location by recomendation, and I can say that the entire experience was perfect. I tried the samlon with Cabbage and plantains, it was AMAZING. It had a sweat taste not to much not to little and perfectly seasoned also was not dry. Nothing was dry. They young man taking my order was very kind with over all service and verry well manered, he gave me a sample of the curry chicken to make sure it wasnt so spicy that was also amazing. The price was verry reasonable good size portions. I will definitely try this place again. Thank you sisters restaurant 10 stars

I've had dinner twice from here,,, the jerk chicken, rice with peas, sweet plantains, and steamed cabbage and a Arizona Iced Tea. I have zero complaints. Everything was seasoned well and they give you plenty. Everything I mentioned was less than 20 dollars and I paid with my debit card, not sure if there's a price difference with cash. Either way, where are you going to eat dinner for less than 20 dollars and it's all cooked from scratch, can't even go get fast food in the equal amount of food they give for that price. The restaurant is very clean, you can smell the food when you go in and there's a variety of food to choose from. Get there early cause if you want oxtail it goes quick, but there's plenty of food to choose from. You will not be disappointed I can assure you that. I highly recommend checking this place out, bring your family and bring your appetite or you will have lunch for the next day. The staff is pleasant, it's clean and nice to get a home cooked meal not some processed garbage from the chain restaurants around here. By the way I ordered a "Large" so that's the size you see in the picture I posted, but they have medium and small so order accordingly.

I am a repeat customer. I enjoy eating their curry goat and jerk chicken meals. The rice and peas tastes like my grandmother made it. If you're looking for authentic Jamaican food, try Sister's Island Cuisine.

I love this place. The portion is excellent for the price. The owners are as friendly as can be. When I come to Mario's, I know I'm going to eat good and walk away happy. It's flavorful and filling. When I order a large, they give me enough that I usually have some left to eat later on. 5/5 would recommend to anyone who wants to know where to get the best food in Middletown. COME HERE AND TRY THE FOOD. You'll get hooked, too! It's amazing!

Welcome to Sister's Island Cuisine, a vibrant gem located in the heart of Middletown, NY. Nestled at 180 Wickham Ave, this establishment brings the authentic flavors of the Caribbean right to your palate. Renowned for its spiced dishes and generous portions, Sister's Island Cuisine has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike.

The passionate dedication to Jamaican culinary traditions shines through every dish. Customers rave about the jerk chicken, which is juicy and served with sauce on the side, perfect for those who appreciate the nuanced heat that distinguishes true Jamaican cuisine. Many, like Regina Cooper, have made Sister's Island a regular stop, declaring that the flavors are so exceptional, they return whenever they can.

For those seeking a hearty meal, the ackee and saltfish is not to be missed. As Alberto Meade mentioned, this dish is tastefully complemented with calaloo, banana, yams, and dumplings—leaving you satisfied for hours. The oxtail has also garnered admiration, especially from discerning diners whose significant others seldom express satisfaction easily. This speaks to the kitchen’s skill in crafting dishes that resonate with authenticity and flavor.

Another standout is the curry goat, which arrives tender and bursting with spices. As shared by Bishop, the very preparation of the dishes—like the jerk chicken being grilled in traditional black barrel drums—adds a unique charm that is hard to replicate elsewhere. The steamed cabbage with a hint of scotch bonnet offers a refreshing twist, showcasing the restaurant's creative spin on classic recipes.

Moreover, the service at Sister's Island Cuisine is as warm as the flavors. Many patrons have commented on the polite and friendly staff, who are eager to ensure a satisfying dining experience. Regarded for its reasonable prices yet flavorful offerings, this restaurant is a beacon for anyone longing for West Indian food. As lui-g noted, the salmon with cabbage and plantains was "AMAZING"—perfectly seasoned with the right balance of sweetness.

If you find yourself in Middletown, make sure to visit Sister's Island Cuisine. With the authenticity, taste, and atmosphere, it promises to transform your meal into not just dinner, but a delightful culinary journey through the heart of the Caribbean.
